Storing Antiques Guige

antiques-collectiblesChoosing a reliable storage facility could save you a lot of troubles you can’t even imagine. Having your antiques stored properly is not that easy task. There are so many storage facilities but few of them are reliable and convenient. There are also many moving companies that offer storage.

Often antiques are oversized and very difficult to move without the help of a professional moving company and just storing your irreplaceable antiques indoors does not ensure that they will be protected from the elements. Spending a little extra time to research experienced moving companies and well maintained storage facilities near by can save your antiques from being damaged.

Your main priority is to protect your antiques from dust, mold, and extreme high or low temperatures. Having appropriate environmental conditions in the storage facility you are about to use is a must. Do not assume there is climate control in all the sells in your storage facility and keep in mind that often climate and humidity control will cost extra.

You should require special crating from your moving company. Hire professional antique movers or moving companies that provide luxury moving services to handle your precious antiques.

Make sure your moving company is licensed and insured. Ask the same thing with the storage facility if you decide to move by your own. It is always a good idea to purchase additional insurance with the moving company to make sure you are protected no matter what. Before purchasing insurance coverage, inform the insurance company about your objects of value.
