Be sure your moving company has the proper permits and insurance to move cross-country or just long distance. We are fully insured, but I know plenty of start-up moving companies that don't have a clue.

I had to have my classic '67 Chevy shipped across country this summer. I've been out of work for months, and just found a job, on the other side of America. I couldn't leave my baby in storage, so I had to set out to find a solid auto transporter.

After some googling I found a good site that reviews different auto shippers, called TransportReviews.com. Anyway, I found a place where the people were as friendly as can be, and my car arrived as it had left, untarnished.

It's expensive and stressful, but perhaps my experience can be helpful to you (I linked in my name to the company I used).

Cheers,
Al

I too agree with Erin, it is best to have a third party, professional Company do the shipping.

I agree with Erin, referring customers to a third party service dealing primarily in the transportation of cars, is the best bet to relocation satisfaction, unless you can move your own car.

As a certified moving consultant, I know how hard it is to keep my customers within their budget. Often times moving their car(s) with the van lines can be very costly since the vanlines calculate the price on weight. More often then not I refer my customers to a 3rd party service which deals primarily in car carrying service. I am also not afraid to suggest my customers sell their cars. Especially if the cost to replace the car is less than the cost to ship it. Happy moving customers happen when their needs are met, and you can't meet a customer's needs if you don't ask what they are. Banwer National Moving and Storage has partnered up with Women Owned National Van Lines to provide the highest level of customer service and to make sure the needs of each of our clients are met and hopefully exceeded.
